The House Fly & Cluster Fly
If this pest is deemed a nuisance in spaces such as lofts, attics or storage areas, it is relatively simple to eradicate them using a range of insecticides and formulations.
There are a number of species of flies throughout the UK, but the most common is the House Fly or Cluster Fly. During the summer months these flies can be mistaken for any other fly, but in the winter they are distinctive. Like birds, they return to the same nest year-on-year. Often nesting in roof spaces and lofts the likelihood of re-infestation is almost inevitable.

These flies do not appear to cause any physical damage to plants or household commodities, however the presence of the fly’s larvae (maggots) renders foodstuffs inedible and unsalable.
